A way to make Inlays with v-bits. other Stuff

Calculator

Based on the width of the V-Bit, this method calculates that width.

When you offset inward by that distance you'd get the "perfect male". But you need to subtract some to have a little glue cavity and it will also allow for a very tight fit with no gaps. Sharp corners seems to work better when creating the offset.

Please check it out and let me know if you see any errors in my logic - thanks -Scott

1 - Enter the Angle of v-bit, example 90 or 60: (example 60) (try 90 deg at 1 inch)

2 - Enter the Depth of FEMALE inlay: (example .4)

Exact Inward offset of MALE profile : 0.2309 at .4 inches

Might be a good idea to add back about 10 to 20% to allow for glue cave and a tighter fit.

10% would be 0.20781 ok

15% would be 0.196265 tested good

20% would be 0.18472 tested good

25% would be 0.173175 not tested

30% would be 0.16163 not tested
