Zebra Acme for E-Series (the older models)
The new front load Zebra Acme adds The Acme screw to the E-Series CNC router from BobsCNC.
Other features include adjustable double POM acme nuts for ultra low backlash.
This lets you adjust for backlash after months of use. A great feature for heavy users.

Installing The Zebra ACME
BUT WHAT IS HE BEST WAY TO UNINSTALL THE ORIGINAL"Z" ? GO THERE
Install the Bearings
Install 3 bearings as shown. Do not tighten to permanent tightness. They should be able to move with some force (preload). Permanent tightening will come later.
Install the 4th bearing to permanent tightness. It does not use an eccentric spacer.
Install the Acme Nuts
Install the black POM nuts using (8) m3 x 10 screws. Notice the 1/16 gap at the top. It doesn't have to be exact, maybe a little more, but it does need to be even.
Insert the acme nut screw to adjust it from the top (gap side) until it moves freely through both nuts. It may not go in at first very easily but adjust as necessary until it's smooth. Where did I get the idea? Bob maybe?

Take the acme screw out when complete.
Install the Z mounts
The DeWalt mounts are mounted higher than the Makita. You will see their name by the screw's holes.
Install the mounts using (4) m4 x20 screws. Leave a gap of 1/8". They will be tightened after the router is inserted.
Now insert (4) m6 x 25 screws. Leave a gap of 1/8". They will be tightened after the router is inserted.
Install the Router Now?
You can but you could also wait until the Zebra is mounted and pre-trammed. I prefer to wait.
See Tramming and Installing the router.
Insert the router.
Now hand tighten al 8 screws. Do not over tighten.
Take the top off and the bearing retainer bracket. I don't think you need to take the limit switch off but I did.
Unscrew the old screw, pull the rods out and the router will come out. The rods might be tough to get out, you may need to loosen the M6 nuts to relieve the pressure from the rods.
Setting the Lock Collar
Set the Locking collar to 18.5, this worked good for me. Now attach the coupler too.
On the left you are looking at the bottom. See how the flange fits in from the bottom.
Pre Tramming and a movie
You will need a 1/2" socket and crescent wrench

Type $102=400 at command line
This will be permanent unless you reflash - then you would type it again
